Pierogi is pleased to present the group show–„Hela Havet Stormar“–featuring
work by an international range of artists. The English translation of
the Swedish title means, „The Whole Sea Is Storming,“ and
illustrates the dynamic theme of the show. The artists reveal different
approaches to the human perception of his / her natural surrounding. The
exhibited photographs, drawings, installations, and videos form the documentation
of a relationship that can shift between loving approach, intellectual
examination and violent intervention.

Two works will be shown in the video room—one each by Marion Porten & Birgit Rathsman. Stop Acting....The Truth is Real, 2007, single channel video, duration: 14 minutes 30 seconds (Porten) and Unicorn Hunt, Part Three, 2007, single channel video, duration: ca. 9 minutes (Rathsmann). Both works concern the structures inherent in the creation of a narrative scene. The nature of cinematic layers is therefore presented as being created first in the performance of the scene in front of the camera, and afterwards in its reception by the audience.
